Wedding flower Ideas for traditional church setting

Wedding flower Ideas for traditional church setting

One question we get here at Joey-Lynn's Flowers a lot is: which flowers are best for my wedding?

We have the lovely bride to be along usually with her mother and best friend stopping in to set up an appointment to discuss the every famous talk of wedding flowers. Most of the time we do our consultations over the phone as this way brides to be can send over photos of the theme wedding they are interested in. Phone consultations are gaining in popularity as with the pandemic in play it is much better to chat via phone.

"Lots of gorgeous lavish blossoms all over the church and reception area that's my dream wedding" laughs one of young brides to be. Well we have to talk budget also because that is where we start. So, once the budget is set off we go to the races!

When choosing the right flowers for a traditional church wedding we need to consider the season as well. Certain blossoms can cost more at different times of the year. Like for instance peonies are among our bride's favorite as they should be. Peonies are our most popular blossom for weddings. The peony smells as beautiful as it looks with it's big petals and romantic scent. So peonies are a popular choice. Peonies are more costly in the winter months because they are more difficult to find. So they are more readily available in the spring and summer months and we can include they in more designs for the service and bouquets. Tulips and sweet peas as well as gardenias and calla lilies are all among the popular beauties. And also have a better price point from which to work with in the spring and summer months when blossoms are just readily available in general.

A gorgeous bridal bouquet of roses and peonies that the bride carries will compliment the large urn alter designs which are filled with lush fragrant complimenting blossoms. These will tie into the pew decor and will be sure to make a grand impression with it's flowing ribbons and greenery. Standing next to the bride and groom is the bridal party which will be carrying bouquets that compliment the bride's flowers just slightly smaller in size along with the boutonnieres that the groomsmen will be adorning on their attire.

This whole look comes together with keeping the theme consistent throughout the whole wedding from service to reception. It is important to note that this is a simple and traditional wedding style and that more elaborate theme weddings are gaining in popularity everyday. Hence a larger service budget.

I hope this answers some of your questions of what flowers are best for my wedding. But as you already know, you are the one with the dream and we are just the magicians, meaning your vision will be our vision and that may very well mean that in the end you have a completely different idea than this one described.

Thank you and have a happy day.
